Sunset Palliative Care, Inc. is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to providing compassionate care to individuals living with a life-threatening or terminal illness, when hope of a cure is no longer medically possible. Palliative care is about living life fully, to the very end of life, with dignity and comfort. The goal of care is to provide support and comfort to the patient and their family, whether in hospital, personal care home, or at home.

At some time, in some way, we must all face the end of life. And most of us share in a common hope: that when death comes to us or to a loved one, it will be peaceful and free of pain. We hope to be surrounded by those we love, feeling safe, comfortable and cared for.
The palliative care program has been designed to help make these hopes a reality.

Memory Garden in the Park

The Memory Garden in the Park was established for two reasons:
1. Provide community awareness of palliative care and information about the services the organization offers.
2. Provide a peaceful place for quiet reflection, and to honor the memory of a loved one.
A Memory Wall was erected in the Memory Garden, in November 2011.

We are fundraising to build a decorative fence around the Memory Garden and to extend the brick pathway around the Memory Wall. Donations can be mailed to Box 92, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3B2.

Sunset Palliative Care INC (SPCI) does not receive funding from anywhere. The donations received through memorial donations are intended for patient services, so funds must be raised specifically for this "Memory Garden" project.
